A question from a customer that wanted to turn a ridding boot into a lamp. They wanted to use the wooden tree that supports the boot. This was my suggestion.

You could cut the top part of the tree flush to give a flat base for the lampholder, drill the wood at an angle so the wire runs up inside the boot then through the wood and out to top in the middle just where the lampholder will sit. A hole in the back of the boot to let the flex out and you’re done. If this is possible then this is what you would need.

Flex cord set

Cord grip fitted across the flex in the boot.

Feed the flex up through the boot and then through the wood. Fix the backplate and cover where the flex comes out and then fit the lampholder. Attach the cord grip inside the boot to stop the flex being pulled out of the lampholder.
